Please note that this tutorial only pertains to email accounts held with any of Alive Online's website and email hosting services. If adding emails from different providers, steps may differ.

This tutorial also assumes that you have no pre-existing email accounts set up in Microsoft Outlook.

Step 1:

Open Microsoft Outlook, and you will be prompted with the following window:

Enter your email address which was previously created for you. In this example, we are using tutorials@aliveonline.co.uk

Step 2:

Your email client may automatically detect the correct email settings, in which case you can proceed to Step 3, otherwise you will be prompted to set up your email account using advanced setup, which will look like this:

Select the IMAP account type, and you will then be asked for your IMAP account settings as per the screenshot below:

For Incoming Mail, you can either use mail.yourdomain or mail.aliveonline.co.uk (Your domain must be attached to a hosting package for it to work.) and the port number 993

For the Encryption Method, select SSL/TLS

Select "Require log on using Secure Password Authentication (SPA)"

For Outgoing Mail, again you can either use mail.yourdomain or mail.aliveonline.co.uk (Your domain must be attached to a hosting package for it to work.) and the port number 465

For the Encryption Method, select SSL/TLS

Select "Require log on using Secure Password Authentication (SPA)"

Click the button labeled "Next"

You will now be prompted to enter your email password on the screen below:

Enter your email password. (If the email account was created by an Alive Online support agent, your default password will be communicated to you by email.)

Step 3:

You will briefly see the "We're getting things ready" followed by "Account successfully added"

Ensure to untick "Set up Outlook Mobile on my phone, too" unless you wish to also set up your emails on your mobile device.

Click the button labeled "Done"

You should now see your Outlook inbox window. Congratulations, your email account has now been set up!
